Shouting "We Are One" in Ethiopia
On November 10th, 2017, in association with the IPYG at the Bole Sub City Youth Center in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa, about 40 youth leaders and members of Ethiopia said, “We are one,” as they carried out the youth empowerment workshop.
Working with the IPYG, Mr. Solomon Gebru, vice president of Tigray Youth Association, introduced the IPYG to the participants of the workshop. He attended the 3rd Annual Commemoration of the WARP Summit and was inspired by the values of HWPL and the IPYG, of being "united in all things and in peace."
All of the youth participants who attended the workshop expressed their willingness to participate in IPYG activities and promised to cooperate with youth leaders in future bimonthly meetings and events with the IPYG.
In order for the youth to protect themselves from war, they need to have the mindset of empowerment in regards to the future. Not only will the participation of the youth in Ethiopia have an effect on Ethiopia through youth empowerment workshops, but it will also extend to having an impact on all of the youth around the world. In Addis Ababa, I hope that Tigray Youth Association will continue to lead the education of youth peace empowerment in the forefront.
