Youth in Moldova meets the answer to their appeal for peace

On December 10th, Dr. Doina Cuciurca, an international law expert of Moldova State University(MSU) and a head of Peace Advisory Council of HWPL co-hosted the Peace Debate Forum of ‘Respublica’ with IPYG, an affiliated organization Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), at Onisifor Ghibu library, MSU, in Chișinău, Moldova.

In order to seek solutions about conflict issues the forum was held under the topic of “Peace is an art of benevolence, confidence and justice / War is the art of destruction and feast of death” and about 40 participants as youths with consciousness about reality attended it.

Especially at this forum, 16 students of MSU participated in the ardent analysis and gave a speech on the reality of domestic and international conflicts such as the Moldova-Transnistria conflict, the Paris terror attack, the war against ISIS etc. And Dr. Cuciurca introduced the two main initiatives of HWPL which are gathering attention as the answer to peace: the Implementation of the implementation of an International Convention on the Cessation of War and International Armed Conflicts and World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Office to bring an end to religious conflicts. Also, she introduced possible activities that youth could take part in to support the Implementation of an International Convention because youngsters would play an important role as one of the two supporting wings of HWPL with women.
Wrapping up the forum, Dr. Cuciurca declared:

“The event was inspired by the activities of HWPL and its two wings IPYG and IWPG. Peace is the main value that must be achieved by every nation. The members of Peace Circle are young people (students at Moldova State University) who will form the new social elite: politicians, judges, prosecutors, lawyers, etc. Considering the international conjuncture and the threats that attempt national and international security, young people showed special interest to the topics concerning war, peace and security in the 21st century, the policy of aggression and armed conflicts, identification of risks and threats to the security of the Republic of Moldova at present, the armed conflict on the Dniester: divergent solutions for settling the Transnistrian conflict (a frozen conflict that lasts since 1992). Even though the discussion lasted only 180 minutes, we managed to approach a big amount of problems that Moldova faces today and identified a number of must-do steps to pass other them. One of them is constitutional and national consolidation. We are responsible for future and security of our children and as a result the role of youth in building and promoting the values of world peace is a great one”

The forum concluded with the signing of the agreement to urge for the Implementation of the implementation of an International Convention on Cessation of War. The agreement mainly addresses that the youth, as the biggest victims of the war, should support it in order to protect themselves. It will be vital to form public opinions supporting the Implementation of the implementation of an International Convention. Currently Dr. Cuciurca and IPYG of Korea are discussing the affiliation of the peace group for continuous collaborations.

IPYG, the host of the event, is forming a network of youths around the world and inspiring them to act as the voice of conscience and reason in this world, promoting a culture of peace. More specifically, it works to develop potential of young people to change the world through Peace Walk, Peace Zone, and Signing of agreement to urge for International convention. Headquartered in Korea, it is cooperating with 2.5 million youths in 5.25 youth organizations from about 100 countries.
